The Indonesian Parrot Project

helping sick birdsThe Indonesian Parrot Project is dedicated to the conservation of the Indonesian cockatoos and parrots.  They are responsible for obtaining trapped parrots, healing them and releasing them back into the wild.

The Indonesian Parrot Project also educates local people about the plight of  their native birds.  They provide jobs to people who are willing to stop illegal trapping and become Eco tour guides or obtain other jobs to sustain their families.

They often say a picture is worth a thousand words so I created a video in hopes that it will inform you as to why it is imperative to support The Indonesian Parrot Project.

So let's all pull together even if it's a dollar you can spare.  You need not be a member of www.SecondChanceBirds  to donate, just use your PayPal account and put in the subject line:

Remember... if you live with a parrot from the Indonesian region you are providing safety for a distant relative of your bird.  Your birds’ bloodline is out there flying free; just as Bo’s blood is flowing through the veins of some wild Moluccan (Seram) cockatoos. Here is an update on the first release.  Indonesian Parrot Project Update
